Brewing time: Turmeric root tea is coarsely cut so would need a longer brewing time of around 5-8 minutes to give the root time to absorb the water and infuse.
Aroma: A warming spiciness fills the air when brewing turmeric root.

Did you know? People in the Middle Ages used to call turmeric “Indian saffron” as it was often used as a less expensive alternative to saffron. India today is the largest producer of turmeric. There are over fifty varieties of turmeric and they are not used just for cooking. It can be used to treat sunburn, made into a paste and applied to the skin. It can be used as a natural dye for fabric as it has such a vibrant yellow colour and is used in many Middle Eastern medicines.
