Did you know?

The term mint refers to a whole 30 different varieties, some quite strong like peppermint which is used in toothpaste and other cleansing products. Spearmint with its sweeter and softer mint taste is used in chewing gum and mint-flavoured sweets. Mint originated from the Mediterranean but nowadays the US produces around 70 per cent of the world’s peppermint and spearmint which is used for so many things, from cooking to cleaning or even bathing, even the Egyptians used mint like we do today, mixing it with other herbs to create a breath freshener.

A lot of Egyptians suffered from abscesses and rotting teeth so a little mint would help cover the awful smell these problems caused.
